I need some help. I'm not sure how to weigh my spaghetti. I measure in grams since I live here in Germany.

Here is what the package saids, 1 portion (125g) is 431 cal, 100g=346. Total package has 500g. I think I weigh it BEFORE I cook it. But I'm not sure. Can someone help me? There is a huge difference between 55g BEFORE cooking and after cooking. But it is only water weight. I have heard both sides of the story.

My friend saids because it is in grams, I would weigh the spahetti BEFORE I cook it.

Please help, thank you.

100g pasta is 357 calories on my estimation, that's dry weight, before cooking..

I never anything after cooking. Pasta is a dry carbohydrate, it's going to be near to 4 calories per gram uncooked and a lot less cooked and wet.

It's always dry weight on pasta. Always weigh before cooking also 125 g is a very large portion. Most things recommend around 75g per person which is what I normally do and that's plenty.

Pasta is meant to be weighed out before cooking. No matter what continent you're on
