I am going grocery shopping for the first time since I joined MFP. I plan to go to Trader Joe's and Dominicks, Any suggestions on good choices to buy for snacks or easy to make meals that are healthy for me and tasty for my family? Any advice is greatly appreciated Thanks!

  • pretzels can be a low cal yummy snack, just count out how many you are eating! also any fruit is always good.. if you like ice cream, u can get low cal/fat ice cream snacks by weight watchers in most supermarkets... seafood is usually pretty low cal meals for the family, especially salmon! or grilled chicken. you can make chicken so many ways, with an arugala salad, using extra virgin olive oil and some lemons. and just make slight adjustements, ground turkey is healthier then beef! so if you like tacos, try ground turkey, whole wheat tortillas, and load it with veggies instead of cheese. this is the way ive been eating, and its been pretty good to stay in my calorie goal, and ive seen results in less then 2 weeks :) GOOOOD LUCK

I keep plums around, they are really sweet, I have a sweet tooth, and only about 35 calories each. I use lower cal sides with higher cal main dishes and eat my sides first also.
