Hello everyone,
I am entering week two of my workout routine which consist of 20min Cardio (Running/Jumping Jacks) and 10 minutes Strength (5 min situps and 5 min pushups). I have already lost 4 pounds compared to when I started (168, now 164)
My body type is skinny but with a belly, which I am trying to get rid of. Eventually, I been doing some reading and I read that situps might not be helping me and it is just bulging my belly. because of this I want to know what really is the ideal 10 minute flat stomach work out? Pilates or crunches? & should I stop doing push ups and do pilates or crunches for 10 minutes instead?
Thank you!

Hi:
welcome to MFP. This is a wonderful tool. I hope it is helpful to you.
Unfortunately, you can not spot reduce. (sigh)
My suggestion is exercise all parts of your body. Eventually, your stomach will flatten. In my case, it was the last body part to lose the fat. Weight lifting was very effective for me.
I found pushups, planks and torso twist (i.e. chopping) quite useful to improve the abdomen muscle. I personally hate sit ups and crunches.
Please exercise all parts of your body like: Monday: upper body, Tuesday: lower body, wednesday: rest. Thursday: Core. Friday: Legs. Saturday and Sunday: Enjoy your weekend. Repeat.0 -
How tall are you? As a male you really want to get in the 130s?? I hope you are very short. Try lifting weights, and watch your diet.0
