What kind of injury (if any) is this?

Hey,

I was doing splits (hanumanasana) and I got a bit to confident to soon and put my arms above my head. This lowered the stretch slightly and I had a odd sharp pain in my groin. It wasnt the scream out loud kind of pain but unpleasant so I came out of the stretch. I tried stretching it out and I can still do splits - but the unpleasant feeling in my leg comes back (like a stiff piece if string connecting my groin and knee).

I have only just learnt to do the splits properly (keeping my hips straight) so im a bit paranoid ruining it!

What have I done and is there anything else I can do to help it? Is it likely to affect me over the next few days/weeks?
