NROL ladies - talk to me about calories

My book arrived in the mail today, and I promptly sat down and read the whole thing! I'm ready to hit the gym in the morning with the first workout!
Talk to me about calories though. I'm so nervous about this. I've been on a 1200 calorie diet for the last 9 months, and have lost 40 pounds. In a perfect world I'd love to lose 10 more pounds. (I'm 5'5" at 139 pounds) Anyhow, using the calculations for calories given in the book, now they are recommending the MINIMUM amount of calories for weight loss is 1700 calories??? The reasons given in the book about protein make sense, but it just makes me so nervous. I've had great success at 1200 calories so I'm afraid of gaining at 1700.
Those who have been there, done that, ease my fears! What was your experience transitioning from calorie restriction to NROL? If you were roughly my size, what was the "sweet spot" calorie wise to continue to lose fat, but gain muscle?
I realize I may not lose this last 10 pounds, and I'm ok with that.. I'm learning to let go of the number of "50 pounds" and focus on physique. I'm just scared of going backwards!
