Hi everyone! So I've been on this site for a little over a month now regularly but I signed up back in July if I remember right(not going to check on that but it would have been the end of the month) Have been actively trying to loose the extra weight for the last month though. I've been doing what I can and have finally gotten my calories under control. My biggest problem is that I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition about 2 yrs ago. They still don't have my meds right because even though the tests they run say its right I know my body and know something is still off. My GP doesn't seem to think that there is anything more that anyone can do but refuses to send me to an endrocronlogist until I've been on my recent dosage for at least 6 months. Well Its coming up to that point and nothing has changed. I'll be going to see him in a little over a week and he will be sending me to the specialist finally. I like him otherwise but when it comes to this I think I know more about it then he does. The reason I bring this up is that I have hypothyroidism and found out about it after having my second child. My grandmother had it as well and weighed over 300 when she passed away 6 years ago. She never tried to lose the weight though. I'm currently at the heaviest I've been (not counting pregnancies) and I weigh 241 or at least I did the last time I was at the doctor and had been holding that number consistently for the last 2 years. I decided not to weigh myself until I go in to see the doc. I get told that I don't look like I weigh nearly what the scales put me at but I've got a rather large chest that doesn't seem to want to quit growing... If I could afford a reduction I would lose at least 20 lbs just getting rid of them!! hehe I've always been a larger chested woman. My chest is massive even for my body size even when I was down to about 140 when I was like 19 or 20 I was still wearing a DDD cup size. This is a challenge for me to be able to workout since I have yet to find a sports bra that fits and supports without me feeling like a squished tomato. The biggest problem is that everyone I know who has this issue has lost all the weight or at least most of it easily after they have their meds right. I haven't lost any just from being on the meds but I did stop putting it on once I started on them.

Ok well I've rambled enough:) Hope you enjoyed my little novel there! Hoping to meet some people on here to help me stay motivated!

  • Keep your chin up! I know you can do it :) My grandma has hypothyroidism, I know how rough that can be. I even thought I may have had a thyroid issue for awhile. The cards might seem to be stacked against you, but nothing is a match for perseverance. I'm here to support you :D You can do it!
