How much muscle loss is okay?

I am fairly new to lifting so bear with me if I ask completely stupid questions.

Since I started using a BF% calculator, I have lost 9.2 pounds. I have had a drop of 2.1% in body fat (according to said calculator). That means I have lost 6.36 lb of fat and the rest is something else. I am sure some water could be in the count, but I assume it is mostly muscle. I lift and my protein is high so is this normal? Should I add more protein? Am I worried about nothing, haha.

Thanks ya'll.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it right now. Just get on a program and lift your little heart out.
tweak diet if you aren't seeing the results you want!

Thanks, I tend to over analyze things. I love lifting :)

With any weight loss there is going to be a mixture of sources the loss will come from. you are lifting to minimize the amount of lean mass you lose.

Worry about it once you are done with the losing part of your journey. If your desired weight doesn't give you the look you are after you can reassess at that time. Although with lifting I doubt you will be disappointed with the end result.

Most BF% calculators are fairly inaccurate. So I wouldn't worry about your calculated muscle loss from that standpoint. If you're doing resistance training, eating plenty of protein, and eating at about a 500-750 calorie per day deficit then your muscle loss will be minimal.
