I know this is controversial so I won't ask which is best, but rather which one have you chosen and why?
Thanks

Post. I believe it helps to rebuild the muscle after working out.0

I do a whey protein shake post workout to quickly supply myself with protein afterwards. In the morning I take ON Pro Complex to get a mixture to start the day off.0
-
Post. I dont like all that liquid sloshing around in my belly. I eat something about an hour before and then drink a shake after.0

Neither protein synthesis is elevated long after the falsely assumed "anabolic window" of yesterday. If anything carbs would be of greater concern due to energy. I usually train fasted personally.0
-
Pre: depends on when I train and when I have eaten last. I do not do post as I do not train fully fasted.0

Post, usually, simply and only because it's easier to do than working out with a stomach full of gloop. :P0

Here's an excellent article on the topic. Take from it what you will.

Post - doing it before makes me nauseous.0
-
I drink post (high protein)
Pre workout usually Tuna, Egg, or Greek Yogurt (lower protein)0 -
Normally after for me, mainly because I tend to go to the gym early doors and I am just not that organised to have much past a peppermint tea first thing while I do some stretches before I leave!0
-
I workout out in the evening - been feeding protein since I woke up so no need of any before in my case.
BCAA as i am on a 10% deficit intra and protein + carbs (syntha 6 + 1 banana) post workout.0 -
I work straight nights, so I have one when I wake up, and then another post workout. Since I eat all night, I usually don't need anything extra pre workout0
-
Anecdotally, post workout shakes did absolutely NOTHING for me so I stopped bothering. Still gaining LMM so whatever really.0

Post. But my reasoning is much less scientific. 1. If I do it before, I am too full and just feel like I'm gonna be sick. 2. After I work out, I'm always starving/ craving something sweet. I make mine like a milkshake and give myself one "as a treat". I know it's weird, but it's like "Good job, self. Here is the only non-fruit sugar you can have. Enjoy!"0
