Lately I have started Stronglifts 5x5 lifting program and I train three Times a week. Thing is, that I do have alot of weight to lose, and my question is: should I do additional cardio? Or I will lose weight by lifting itself?

My first 4months was just lifting....I added HIIT (some cardio some body weight) in January...all I find is that instead of 1/2lb a week I am losing 0.66lbs a week now...
If you want to do cardio do it...on your off lifting days or after you lift.0 -
Weight loss is about diet.
Lifting will help build strength and preserve muscle mass.
Do additional cardio if you wish, for fitness and to help create your calorie deficit.0 -
As long as your diet is in check and you're eating at a deficit, you will lose your fat from just lifting.. Cardio just aids a bit
I personally don't even do cardio when on a cut, but I'm thinking of changing that to see how much it'll aid me

For just losing weight, Cardio is awesome! Do it whenever you have some spare time, it might help you lose weight faster (and you can eat more and still be healthy, yay!). So it's not a must but a reeeally great thing to do0

What exactly do you mean by diet? I ask because so many people say does not matter what you eat as long as you're in a deficit then the word 'diet' is thrown in. Can you explain please?0 -
get on the treadmill and use the hill method for an hour after weights.....0

I add cardio before and after I lift, it just allows me to eat more and helps with my heart health. I also do cardio before yoga on my off days.0

Thanks you all! I prefer lifting waaay more than cardio. Thinking about doing HIIT twice a week on my non-lifting days.0

For me cardio is a must so I can eat more.0
