How can I tell

Hi guys,

New to fitness here. I've been exercising and eating better for about a month now and I know that weight doesn't come off overnight. So far the only change is that I can work out longer without fatigue. I'm just wondering how do you know if what you're doing is enough to make a difference? Am I eating well enough, am I exercising well enough, to really make a difference and slim down. It's hard for me because I am not really overweight, just trying to lose 5-10 pounds and keep it off and live a healthier lifestyle.

How do you know if what youre doing is enough to lose weight vs just maintaining your current weight? Any advice?

    Hi! I am also just trying to lose a few, and boy howdy is it frustrating. Once your body is down to a 'healthy' weight range, it really fights you when you try and wrestle away those last few lbs. I stick to a pretty low caloric intake, eat mostly clear soups and plants, and do a ton of cardio. Even if it's slow, it'll pry loose eventually if you stay away from carbs and soda.

    What's your calorie goal at the moment? If it's not working fast enough for you, try bumping it down by 100.

    Take progress photos periodically. I take pictures every 30 days. I can clearly see the difference in them.

    :huh: Well, if you're doing enough to lose weight, you would lose weight. All you need is a calorie deficit, whether you're trying to lose 10 lbs or 100 lbs. If you're not losing weight, something in your math is off. Usually that means you're underestimating your food intake, or overestimating your calorie burn, or a combination of the two.
