Clomid and weight gain?

I am currently on my 3rd round of clomid. My hubby and I have been TTC for 6 months now and are having some pretty serious difficulties. I started gaining weight when I started the clomid. I was used to eating 1200 calories before we started TTC. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this and was able to lose without affecting fertility since I know those two can really hurt the other if you go to far. Did anyone lose weight while on clomid and if so what was your calorie count for the day??
Thank you!
Thank you!

I don't think weight gain is specific a side effect of clomid, however messing around with your hormones can always cause weird fluctuations in weight or cravings.
But it sounds like it might not be the most important thing in your life right now c;
If it isn't a big issue/really bothering you or isn't too severe, maybe don't worry about it for now.0 -
I'm dealing with the same issue. I have gained 40 pounds since starting clomid. According to my doctor you can gain up to 3-4 pounds with each cycle. I've been TTC since June 2013.0

I gained about 8 lbs on three cycles of clomid. I was also taking progesterone at the time (IUI cycles). But, TBH, I didn't care, the last IUI worked, so it was worth it. I'd talk to your doctor, but if it were me, I would just eat at maintenance while on it and deal with the weight gain later.
I wish all of you luck. It can be a long, hard, exhausting journey. We started TTC in March 2009 and got pregnant the beginning of October 2010.0 -
I conceived all 3 of my children on Clomid. I found that it made me ravenous, and also very bloated. I gained 5 pounds, each time I took it, but I was lucky and conceived on my first round, every time. I'm sure if I'd had to do several rounds, I would have gained more. To be honest, Clomid made me feel downright yucky. It gave me persistent PMS symptoms. It worked though, and I have 3 beautiful children, as a result. I hope and pray that you have similar luck! Keep us posted!0

I realize this is an old thread... but to put in my 2 cents... I have noticed a stop in weight loss... I've been hanging on to an extra 3-4lbs of what I suspect to be water weight because it starts going down after TOM then after I start my next cycle of Clomid it goes right back up there. I'm trying to just maintain until all of this is over because its no sense in getting worked up over something that you can't control. Not to mention, I know I'll be gaining soon enough when I finally get pg anyway.
This is my 2nd cycle.... will be starting 3rd in a week if I'm not lucky enough to get a BFP before then.0 -
This is round 4 for me. I wasn't overweight before starting clomid and although I hadn't lost my "few" vanity pounds, I was pretty healthy. I gained 20 pounds in the last four months. I'm only four pounds away from being officially overweight. My diet hasn't changed too much either with the exception of giving into cravings on rare occasions HELP!0
