Weight loss success after upping calories?

For the past 11 weeks I have been eating 1200 calories a day, plus about half of my exercise calories (I use the calories counts on the machines at the gym so I know there not accurate) and have lost 17 pounds so far.
Today I have decided to up my calories to 1410 because I don't want to lose the weight too quickly and end up losing muscle. I'm also not to far from my goal weight.
Have other people still had success after upping your calories? Should I expect to see my weight go up at first because of any water weight etc?

As long as you are in a deficet you will lose weight.
If you were eating 1200 calories (weighing food/measuring liquids) and lost weight (by the looks of it about 1lb a week) then moving up to 1410 and eating back some of your exercise calories yes you will continue to lose weight.
But keep in mind as you get closer to goal logging accurately becomes very important...
by logging accurately I mean weighing your solids/measuring liquids and choosing the correct entries in the database...and eating back a portion of your exercise calories.
Suggestion typically is to do 100 calories a day for a week then the next 100 calories etc so your body can get used to it.0 -
Thank you for your reply.
I think this week I will up it by 100 calories a day to 1300 plus exercise and see how that goes before upping by another 100. Thanks for the help :-)0 -
You only have, what, 3 lb. to goal? Congratulations! Set your goal to .5 lb. per week and be patient. The smaller deficit will help you transition to maintenance.

Your goal should always be to find the maximum number of calories at which you lose weight.0
