Having a Blast and enjoying the ride

This is my second attempt at using MyFitnessPal; the first time around I chose to loose a pound a week and it worked great! Super easy, reliable and a great tool that really helped me make some changes. After my grandmother passed away I struggled with some feelings and I admit that I turned to food and gained all the weight I lost and a few extra pounds back over a four month period of time. I finally bought my own scale and realized what I'd been doing. Stuffing my feelings full of chocolate and carbs was not the answer to dealing with grief long term.
I know my grandmother, who was pre-diabetic, wouldn't want me to face the same struggles she had. My mother was also recently diagnosed as pre-diabetic and I'm more than 30lbs over her weight! So I decided that it was time to take control of my fate and make the journey. I'm already gluten free and dairy free and I eat pretty well when it comes to veggies, fruits, organic, and lean meats so it's just the part of paying attention and cutting out the excessive eating. I'm using a combination of MFP and Weight Watchers (just to add a little extra support) and in the first week my body has let go of 6lbs and I've passed my previous starting weight of 202.
Yesterday I weighed in at 200.8. I'm ready to see that scale hit the 100's! This is it, and I'm ready to accept my responsibility to make this goal happen. I hope to reach my pre-baby weight of 145 and a size 8. I know I can do it as long as I can keep the momentum up and recognize that when I fall down that it's okay and I can get back up with the support of my family, my higher power, and my ability to remain willing. I accept my responsibility

Welcome back! Sorry to hear about you grandmother passing, but you're right she wouldn't want you to face her same struggles. You can do this just remember you didn't put the weight on overnight it won't come of overnight either. Just keep trying and you will get there. Making friends on here is a great way to keep you accountable and motivated on this weight loss journey. I have sent you a friend request. Anyone feel free to add me!
