Wrist support you can buy at the local store can help a bit as well as cortisone shots I believe.
Other than that surgery is the only option I know of.0 -
Suffered for many years with Carpal Tunnel. Got so bad I couldn't ride my motorcycle. Had the surgery a couple years ago. Completely gone. No complications.
Get the surgery.0 -

To remedy carpet tunnel syndrome, I believe some soda water can get that out.

I've had that happen before, I ripped it all up and went with hard wood!0

sounds like surgery is your best bet, but in the meantime, maybe use wraps for added support?0 -

I hope it was done by a professional, otherwise...*shudder*0 -
I can't get to the doc for a few weeks and my wrists are killing me. Any advice?
TIA
Switch to the other hand. .0 -
I tried these three things all at once and it did eventually work:
1) positioning. Always keep the wrist in a neutral position, especially when keyboarding. There are even rests you can buy to help with this. At night I had to learn to stop resting my head on my hand, on top or underneath the pillow. I wore a brace at night too, to keep the fluid running and functioning properly.
2) I had some stretches to do but only did them once or twice a day for less than thirty seconds and that didn't help. Then, I was at my tap dancing class and my wrist had to be in a position that was a stretch for a move, and some of my class mates couldn't get the foot work down, so I spent at least 45 minutes going over the foot work with them while keeping my wrist stretched and moving. I think that this diligence helped a lot. ( So maybe, get music to go with the stretches?)
3) Fill one sink with water that is so hot that you can barely tolerate it and fill the other sink with ice cold water. alternate emerging your hand in each sink.
I have been pain free for more than six years now. Surgery is an option, but it's a painful process and I believe that the problem can still re-occur after surgery. Good luck, I know that it can interfere with life.0 -
Stomp down on the part of the carpet that rose into a tunnel. Use nails to secure it if possible.0
