I know weight fluctuates but i was wondering if there was a reason why i have put on 3lbs in a day (weighed 8am each morning). They only thing i done yesterday was exercise.

Probably your muscles retaining water to repair themselves. Stay hydrated and it should drop off in a couple of days.

Weight fluctuates, continue to weigh daily, look at trend over 2 weeks.

Temporary water retention. Contributing factors are the micro-tearing of the muscles you are exercising (fluid rushes in to fill the gaps), sodium intake for the day, and carb consumption to some extent. I've gone to bed and woke up 2-3 lbs lighter. Track the weight trend over several days and don't let individual weight checks freak you out.

Yes, quite simply extra water weight. Your body is using water to help rebuild muscle tears after the exercise. Don't worry about small swings. By means of example, conversely, if you got drunk tonight you'd probably weigh 3lbs less tomorrow as you are dehydrated...

you ate, you didn't have the exact same amount of "waste", you have a different level of water retention due to exercise and/or eating something salty, there are many factors, and you should not be worried at all

Thanks you for the helpful comments. Yes i know i ate food, it was a genuine enquiry as to whether exercise causes fluid retention.
