Need for food - energy consumption

I'm just wondering if anyone finds differences in what they need in terms of energy, not just compared to exercise, but their stats.
- did you naturally need more energy when you were younger?
- did you notice that you needed more energy when working hard, as in studying for exams or going through a lot at work?
I'm 23, female, around 149 lbs and 5"9. Looking to lose about 17 lbs. I've put my calories to 1300 and I find it so hard. At times when I have opportunity to exercise it's easier but if not I struggle. I try to eat a lot of low calorie foods which give me energy - eggs, chicken, fish, vegetables and lean pork. But it's as if I'm always slightly hungry and with a glass of wine or two or some dark chocolate I'm just killing the day.
I did this TDEE thing and it said my maintenance was slightly above 1800. However since I'm not working but studying I just had to cross off for very low activity job (because studying is). But when I think about it, running errands and cleaning the flat, I might not be as "low activity" as I think?
I haven't calculated the past few days so not much info to get there, I just feel like there ought to be a reason why I can end up feeling hungry or like I'm punishing myself even with lots of vegetables and good food.
Do you go to bed content at 1300 or 1500 calories?

Yah no and I am almost 2x your age..
depending on what I am doing I could eat as much as 2000 a day and still need more...that doesn't happen often..
I am typically satisfied between 1600-1800 but again depends on what I am doing...
Day after weights hungry, day after HIIT not so much, Mondays typically starved because my weekends aren't as good as they should be..0
