Measurements...?

Okay people/ :) Gone without number changes, so I did a measurement, and it I liked what I saw, though I don't trust it. How do you guys find the same spot to measure your waist and hips? I let the measuring tape go to the natural curve but that feels so much higher than my belly button, which I typically think of as the waist. And my hips, well, there's a lot of area to cover. :) So I've been kind of going based on my bikini line, but I don't carry a lot of weight there in the front. Mostly above that and quite frankly my butt covers a lot of ground. Tips? I've always found measurements to be a greater motivation than the numbers.

I measure the smallest part of my waist and the largest part of everything else I'm trying to track (chest, bicep, hip/glute, thigh/quad, calf).

I measure the top of the left thigh, hips across the fullest part of the bottom, waist at my belly button, waist at my smallest point, below the bust, bust across the nipples, by my freckle at middle of the neck, and roughly middle of my left bicep. I try to keep the tape parallel to the floor. I picked those spots because they are easy to remember and find again. if you have a mole or freckle that works. I choose to do 2 waist measurements because I carry in the mid section and I don't lose uniformly. Hope this helps!
