Thanks for starting this post! It is here on MFP and posts like yours that got me started on researching weight lifting. I am sending a friend request based on this,
"Kr1stadee & JennaM222 – Haha, I totally forgot about that toilet. It’s a left over sticker from Halloween, of a zombie crawling out of the toilet and blood dripping from the tank. We put it on and never bothered to take it off. Halloween is a very serious affair in my house, you should see our shower curtain ;P "
And that you are kick *kitten* in lifting! I adore Halloween, almost as much and maybe even more than Christmas!
I just started reading "New rules of lifting for women" So far I am loving it. I also am lucky enough to have found an amazing gym where strength training is the core to everything they do. No treadmills or ellipticals in sight. You can still get a cardio workout in from their classes, but even their spinning class is an interval and includes weights. Meeting with a trainer next week to evaluate where I should start weight wise with lifting and to build a routine for my goals. No more 5lb pink dumbbells doing 30 reps for me!0 -
That's really awesome to hear! It's great that more and more women are picking up weights. Being stronger is great for your confidence, and helps you learn to love your body for what it can do for you, not just how it looks. I've accepted your friend request loconnor466 and I can't wait to see your progress0

Awesome success, girl!!!
Congrats and good luck on April 1st0 -
This is fabulous!!
I've been doing beginners program for about a month now. I took a few routines off of bodybuilding.com ... kind of took some drills from a few different websites.
I'm not really into barbels and haven't met anyone at my gym yet to really help spot me and what not.
Do I have to do weight lifting with barbels? I feel like I'm doing well with the machine workouts and the dumbells. I can see definition in my arms again!
Just wanted to know your opinion, some people tell me the machines won't get me the results I want.0 -
You can stay with machines and dumbbells forever if that's what you want. As long as you are adding weight over time you will progress and get results.0

Thanks We will see what happens after a few months ...
You're awesome!0
