Fitbit one or polar loop?

I'm planning to get a activity tracker so that I can track my calories burned more accurately. But I can't choose between fitbit one and the polar loop. Does the polar loop track calories burned base on the hand gesture?? Please give me some advice. This is the first time I'm getting a activity tracker...

I have a fitbit one and a Polar FT7 HRM. Buy a Polar HRM and don't buy a Fitbit of any kind. Fit bit only picks up steps, stairs, running. It doesn't pick up biking, ellpitical or can be worn in pool for swimming or water workout classes. I wish I would have save a $100 and not have bought the fitbit one. I still wear it but for what I don't know since I manually log all my gym workouts into MFP after I look at the Polar FT7 readings after a gym workout.

If I'm not particularly active and I only exercise for 30min a day, then the HRM will only be of use for 30min a day?....0 -
My gym workouts sometimes only last 30 minutes too but for me it was worth the investment. If you are just walking or doing stairs or running for exercise than the fitbit would be ok. If you want to know your heart rate and how many cals burn, and stuff like that then you need a HRM with a chest strap.
I had a gift card from Macy's for $100 and bought my Polar FT7 online there so I was only out about $30 so for me it was a great deal and good investment.
I did buy a cheap $20 hrm watch at TJMaxx a couple years ago but no chest strap so it isn't very accurate but at the time it worked. Also at the time I didn't want one with a chest strap but now I don't mind it all and you can't even feel it on.0 -

I track everything on here. Food water vitamins exercise and so on. I don't usually eat back my exercised burned cals either. I have it set for me to eat 1490 cals a day, sometimes I don't eat that much though in cals. Somedays I do, just depends. I track everything I eat and am very honest about it too. Good and bad foods!

I agree. I have a fitbit one and I absolutely love it. But it is mostly for if you are
A) using walking or running as your primary exercise and/or
are using it to track the calories you burn throughout the day.
I do weight training and do the elliptical as my exercise, and the fitbit is not the best product for these kinds of exercises. I'm considering giving my fitbit one to my mom, who walks several miles a day. She would benefit more.0
