I am a mid 40's mom of 4 (though one's flown the nest now :( )

I've been on the site before, lost a little weight but have since regained all of my weight and more.

I struggle knowing how cook for myself for weight loss and cook and feed the kids; the older ones want to eat "junk". I tend to eat smaller portions and end up hungry. I've always cooked at home but I've cooked with unhealthy foods (red meat, nuggets, pastry, cakes etc) and I'm trying to learn and change gradually to save the shock to the kids lol. I've read some of the info on the web but to be honest, much of it confuses me; I need simple guidelines lol I'm on medication which doesn't help with concentration or dieting! I also became single not long ago so we're on a tight budget and it seems everything that's healthy is more expensive. I even try to grow some food so we do have fresh, seasonal vegetables but I seem struggle to get a decent intake of healthy proteins and calcium and stay within my calories (1500). I stress eat and binge eat which I know is no good for me and I'm not very active though I am trying to walk more.

Well that's me, I'd love to have friends that would like to join me on this journey and share encouragement, the ups and downs, tips and recipes.
