Every other day?

Hello all, currently I've been working out every other day. I consider myself a beginner since it's been well over a year since I was last consistently active. When I work out every other day I'm usually doing Ripped in 30, Killer Ab video, or getting on the elliptical at school. My Polar FT4 states I burn an average of 320 calories for the video's and depending on how long I go on the elliptical (an hour is about 700 cals burned). I'm just wondering if this is a good plan. I'm trying to lose about 20-30 lbs my starting weight earlier this month was 157 and I'm 5' 6''. I'm also eating better and drinking plenty of water. I'm just notice I'm not loosing weight as rapidly as I used too, I'm not sure if this is because I'm not totally limiting my calories like a crazy person like I used to, or If it's because I'm doing it the right way. I'm just hoping to gain some advice here on anything really! Please let me know your thoughts.

Taking a look at your diary, there are a few things I'd comment on.
First, how rapidly is "not loosing weight as rapidly as I used too"? With only 20-30 pounds to lose, you want to aim for about 1 pound per week. I know it's slow, but pushing your body to lose more than it wants to won't always work.
Remember that with exercise, our muscles want to hold onto extra water to help cushion and repair them. This can look like a stall on the scale when it's really just masking the fat loss that's happening in the background. Every time you start a new exercise routine or increase an old one you're likely to see a little more water weight on the scale.
Your calories are very low some days. Either you aren't logging those days accurately, or you're not eating enough. Eating too little has less to do with weight loss and more to do with your overall health. The less you eat the harder it is to fit in all of those essential nutrients like fat, protein, calcium, and other vitamins and minerals your body needs.
You also don't appear to be weighing your food. That's okay. It's completely possible to lose weight without a food scale. But you might have to put up with more ups and downs because of the inaccuracies in your logging.0
