Jump Rope?

Hi, I had a little question about exercising with a jump rope. How long am I supposed to do that? Or should I rather count up to a certain number of jumps? And what is the difference between fast and slow jumping? Is it better if I do it a few times a day for a bit or rather just once, but then longer?
I hope someone can help me. Cheers

How about slowly starting, then alternating between fast and slow jumps, and slowing it down towards the end?
Any other suggestions?
