water water everywhere

A coworker told me today that the reason I've not lost any weight is that I'm drinking too much water. I drink between 6 and 10 glasses a day. To me this sounds whackadoo. Can you drink too much water:smile:

I suppose you could - but 6-10 glasses isn't too much. If you're not losing weight you're more likely eating too much food.

No, I would actually say it's the opposite - not drinking enough water usually leads to water retention, which causes weight gain or no loss.

Now, if you chugged 8 glasses of water and then weighed yourself, of course you would weigh more, but I'm assuming that's not what they meant.

Water is actually an excellent aid to weight loss. Most people don't get enough water, so don't worry about drinking too much unless your salt intake is on the low side (which most people's aren't).
