Logging exercise

I've recently been advised not to log my exercise in MFP as the estimation of calories I burn is too high, and it will throw off my total calories and macros I should be consuming throughout the day. I was told to eat closer to the 1800 cal mark a day if I exercise, and closer to the 1600 cal range if I don't, to maintain a larger deficit for weight loss. How does everyone else log their exercise and change their diets on the days they have an intense workout vs. having a rest day?

when mfp guesses my calories burned i manually change the number to closer to what i actually burned. that way its in there but not just a high guesstimate0

I average out my exercise and non exercise days to come up with a consistent number and log exercise as 1 calorie. I never cared what the exercise calorie number was but don't like how it screws with my macro goals0

Get an HRM (Heart Rate Monitor) It will calculate your calories based on your weight and your heart rate than adjust mfp calories to match your HRM0

I generally only eat half the exercise calories it says I burned.0
