I have a question, if you sat in bed for 24 hours and ate 1500 calories and didn't move and your BMR burns 2000 calories would you lose weight? I obviously don't do this but I was just curious.. It seems to good to be true lol

No you don't "have to" exercise. It's move more and/or eat less. Eating less is the easiest way to create a deficit.
Eating at a moderate deficit, getting enough protein, and strength training....will help you retain lean muscle mass. I exercise because I "can." I don't just want to weigh less......I want to be healthy too. Lowering my body fat % is important for my health.
Beside, maintenance is going to be harder if it's just eat less. The move more, gives me a buffer.0
