Has anybody else noticed an obvious cycling of their appetite? For me, I am 'normal' for a week, then ravenous for a week, then no appetite for two weeks. I'm currently in the no appetite zone and struggling. Last week, during the 'ravenous' phase, I was struggling to get down to 1400-1500 net calories per day. Today, I'm at 975 in, 479 net. I know I have to eat more (479 net calories? Unacceptable.) But I'm NOT hungry.

How do you handle your appetite? I'm especially interested if yours cycles too!

  • I have noticed this and I thought I was crazy! I can go about four or five days doing really good. I may have to make sure I'm within my calorie limit and I'm at the fridge at 8pm looking for a banana and something with fifty calories. Then day six and oh my god I want FOOD! Fries, ice cream, burgers, I'm ravenus!

I haven't figured out what to do with this yet, but I thought I'd let you know that you're not alone.

I definetely have to say I do have cycles - they dont last as long as a week though. I find that when I dont work out I am more hungry.. and the days I do workout Im less hungry

Yeah, my energy levels cycle, too, with lower appetite weeks corresponding with higher energy levels! It's pretty incovenient for the purpose of MFP lol.
