How many steps do you take?

And why?

Edit: I am doing my research online too. So far I have found out apparently people should do 10,000 steps a day!

Lol not nearly enough. I'm not a walker, I dance for my exercise.

anywhere from 8,000 to 16,000 a day, one day I even reached over 19,000 but that was way outside of normal. It just depends. My average would be around 12,000 I think.

oh, missed the "and why?" My Why would be, it's my primary form of exercise, walking. I enjoy it, that's the only reason I keep doing it.

My ultimate goal is 14,286 (so that I get 100,000 steps a week), but some days I am happy with the 10,000.

Some days the only activity/exercise I get is walking, so I try to make the most of it.

On a day without taking a walk for exercise on average about 10,000 to 12,000 - on days when I take a walk specifically for exercise between 18,000 - 21,000

When I'm working anywhere from 17,000-25,000 a day. When I'm not working- 8,000-10,000
  • typical day of work around 5k, and then another 10k when the weather is cooperating and i can walk my dogs. I wish my job wasn't so sedentary.
  • On a work day (3 days a week): 9,000 - 15,000. Sometimes several hundred more.
    On a day off: 6,000 - 8,000

I do this only to see how much activity I am getting.
