Farting....explain to me

Why when there are threads on here about farting in wherever and whenever....people comment that they "Are laughing out loud reading this" and that "I'm crying so hard with tears of laughter".....

But yet its still considered inappropriate to fart at your desk persay, or in public on purpose, to alleviate yourself from the issue at hand?


Why?

Why must we remain closet farters so as to not distrub the feelings of others? Who potentially secretly think it's hilarious?

    Probably nearly as bad as on an elevator. I can only imagine what it was like on Apollo missions when you're in a tiny capsule 3 days from earth.

    I suppose I will admit its not kind to crop dust the pregnant woman in my office...but it is hilarious to watch her squirm as she politely avoids the horrendous smelling *kitten* (aka me) in the room when having a serious conversation

    I still think farting is pretty gross. I've been with my hubby for ten years and neither of us purposely farts in front of the other still. It's not like we're repressed. Pretty much anything else goes... But, something about a dude (or chick for that matter) busting loud, ripe *kitten* gas and then ten minutes later being all like "Hey baby, wanna get naked...(or whatever...)" doesn't sit well with me....
