I was wondering if there's anyone else around who has poly-cystic ovaries (the kind that only helps you gain weight...) and how that's affecting your weight loss, and especially in terms of calculating what your calorie intake should be?

There have been many discussions here on PCOS, just type that into the search field and you'll find them. There are also several PCOS groups here, go to Groups on the task bar and type it in to see a list.
In general, PCOS often goes hand in hand with insulin resistance which is why it's harder to lose. A reduced carb (not low carb) diet plan is often more successful as it helps manage the IR while addressing the need for a calorie deficit. Daily exercise also helps a lot with the IR as well.0
