what's better, smith machine lunges or barbell lunges? or are they different?
i have been doing barbell lunges for the past two months but i see a lot of female trainers post videos of themselves on instagram doing smith machine lunges. i heard the smith machine is really bad for you when it comes to squats. is that the same case with lunges?

I personally hate the Smith machine. It doesn't allow you to utilize your stabilizer muscles which can cause injury down the road. And forces your natural movement into something else. The challenge of lunges, especially when your fatigued is the weight control on your shoulders and stabilizing your body. You're using your whole body in the movement. I guess if you just want to isolate the quads/hams it's useful but personally I think your cheating yourself in the movement.0

Nah, don't waste your time with that. There are far more effective lunge variations. Barbell, dumbbell, walking. Not to mention other single leg exercises.
Honestly, buy Strong Curves. You won't regret it.0
