How long did it take

for your body to adjust to a new workout/exercise routine?
Last week I start SL5x5 in addition to my regular exercise of walking (3-4miles/day @ 3.8-4.0mph). I am exhausted by 9-10pm and can't wait to hit the bed. I know this earlier bedtime is due to the recent addition of strength training.
How long will it take for my body to adjust to this?

Are you sure you are eating enough? I lift, walk, run and do circuit training (not all in one day, of course) but I end up feeling energized usually, not exhausted. I go to bed at a reasonable time and only feel exhausted when I'm getting sick.0

I would suggest avoiding the long cardio on the same days you strength train.0

Yes, I'm pretty sure. My daily goal is 1440 and I eat back my exercise calories (all of them!) and get 100+g protein. My macros are 40C/30P/30F and I've been pretty good at hitting that since I starting lifting again.0 -
bumping for my responses, hopefully.....0

Whenever I start something new, it usually takes about two weeks before I'm not exhausted, and a month before my body catches up completely. My experience being martial arts, though, not lifting. My first night of taekwondo I couldn't even climb the stairs to my apartment, and I stayed home on the couch for two days until the next class, lol.
Make sure you drink plenty of water, and give yourself a day between for your muscles to recover. New things are hard on our bodies.0 -

This.
If you want to do a little cardio on the days you strength train....just do about 10 minutes after you lift.0
