Hello my name is Amelia, i am from the UK.
I am in a never ending battle with my weight so thought i would give this a ago.
I have done MFP before but i guess i never really did it properly.
I already do a lot of exercise and am responsibly fit for how fat i am, it is just my diet/portion size that's the problem!
So basically i am looking for any advice as my problems are normally if i have a bad day i give up! i also tend to binge...
Anyone in the same battle please add me so we can help each other )

Sounds like you have to develop some solid coping mechanisms, to help you get through the tough times. You've come to the right place, as most here are either struggling with, or have overcome the very thing you described.

Eat "good" (whatever that means to you) 80% of the time. Fit yummy, portion-controlled treats into your calorie goal. Deprivation can lead to bingeing.
Log everything you eat & drink accurately & honestly. Weigh your food.

I know you can do this, we need Amelia to know she can but also that she deserves to be fitter and healthier, more energetic and has a love for and of life.0

Hi Amelia. My name is Gretchen and I live in St Joseph, Michigan. I am going to be fifty in less than a month. About five years ago I told myself I would be fit at fifty, and so I started exercising daily, and I THOUGHT I was watching what I ate but clearly that wasn't working because I'm still about 40 pounds overweight. Well maybe 30 now. I have lost ten pounds in the past few weeks! And here is the deal, for both you and me: underneath the fat, we're fit! don't know if this helps or just confuses. But i've done the opposite.
Now, i don't eat perfectly all the time, indulge in too much bread and butter etc
However, i've really watched my diet for several yrs,(with little exercise) eating smaller portions, less carbs,
healthy options, except on bad days ..but the weight just piled on.
.and now i am really big..
So, this site is fantastic, as you can watch what you eat v.closely, and it encourages me to walk,
then swim and run off the extra and be fit too.
So, i reckon, that i'm saying, it HAS TO be the combination of diet & exercise!!
