How tall are you? And is it safe for you to be under a 100lbs being an "active" person? I can relate at one time in my life...I was 18 weighing a whole 93 pounds...however I am only 5ft tall....so it was OK...and still when I look back at those pics of me ewww oh so not healthy. Call me a crazy nursing student but just want to make sure....
good luck

thanx for your concern....i am about 5 ft 1 and half... it wouldnt be a problem for me to be 95 pounds I think lol... I checked the BMI for that weight is the bottom line of healthy weight range...0

Well be careful and goodluck....once you get the hang of this site and everything you should have no problem. I myself found that if i didn't hang on so tightly to the idea of losing weight and the long term goal the pounds came off and life was better. Sometimes we get to emotionally attached to the weightloss situation....we get absorbed in it it becomes our life. I hope I make sense.
Take care...

Are you saying that even if you workout, as much as you do, you will only eat 1200 calories? MFP is not a 1200 calorie diet. I think you should record your workouts and eat all the calories that it recommends. You might also want to incorporate weight/resistance training to your workouts to build muscle. Good luck!! :flowerforyou:0

I'm curious, you said you are 18 years old, 5'1", and 108 lbs right?
Is your goal to lose weight or just tone your body and eat healthier?0 -
I don't know 15 pounds seems like a lot when your already 108. You are the same height as I am so I know your height. I wouldn't recommend going under 100. Just concerned is all
Also make sure you eat all the extra calories you get from all your exercising. Make sure you get your 1200 in.
Good luck and stay healthy:happy:0 -
banks...my goal is to lose waist size, and tone overall body... I figured that if we are made of proximately 60% water, 20% muscle and 20% fat I could decrease my body fat % while not building too much muscle... so 108(60%)+108(20)+108(8.5%)=95... I doubt that I have 20% muscle on my body..lol.. is a body fat percentage of 8.5% for women a little extreme or should i increase the body fat percentage to stay healthy... also... I am trying to eat a balanced diet because I am going to college and I don't want to throw away my good eating habits..0

I think all you need is to tone up and eat maintenance calories or a little less (like 250 less). You need to do weight training - this will help you decrease body fat and loose inches.
Read those posts because you need to be aware of this:

Ask if you don't understand anything and good luck :flowerforyou:0 -
I think a body fat% for women is supposed to be like 20-25%....... so uh ya, 8.5% is VERY unrealistic.....0
-
You don't need to get your body weight down to the bottom of the healthy range. Anywhere in the healthy range should be good. Also, 8.5% body fat is REALLY LOW. It's more like a man who just trained for many marathons...
Anyway, I hope you can use MFP to keep your food diary and exercise diary and keep you on track. But try not to lose too much, I bet you are a beautiful girl who doesn't need to lose any weight! That being said, this site can help you see how much you eat, and what things you could replace with healthier options.0 -
thanx guys...appretiated all the replys
ps.one more question: what's the average body fat % for athlete? or the range of body fat percentage that considered healthy ( bottom line of healthy bodyfat %)... yes yes.i am an overachiever, i like to be the best I can be....or the lightest in this case0 -
