I joined MFP at 198 pounds. I did not do any measurements other than the scale until the end of July. I started tracking the 16 of July. This is when I really started trying to get my weight under control and for a few weeks I saw the scale fall but none of my clothes were fitting any different. I was really getting discouraged, I mean what good is weight loss if you stay the same size. Anyway, my mom suggested I measure, I did and the first month there were barely any changes. Again I was frustrated and not sure how I was losing and it didnt show.

Then this month, I started to notice, my clothes are getting loose and they are fitting way different. I looked back and decided to add up my inches lost and the weight as well.

So since 7/31/2010 I have lost a total of 17.25 inches, and 16 pounds. From the 16 of july to the 31 I lost 13 pounds. So some of that was water weight and some was fat.

The conclusion I came to was simple...

I was losing the fat in the muscles and around the organs, I was getting healthy from the inside out litterally. Now I am seeing a difference on the out side I am sure this is why it is easier to breath and my endurance is better.

Great post! Glad you did it and good work Mom for telling you to measure! Some people don't understand that change happens differently for everyone and your numbers are FANTASTIC! Way to go seriously! Keep it up (err down ... well you know what i mean *wink*)

Thank you for sharing this and congratulations. Great job sticking with it during the tough times. But like you said. the early weight was possibly the weight inside our bodies and that is extremely important to lose, so that's wonderful. Love the idea of getting healthy from the inside out, love the visual. Keep up the great work and good luck on your journey.
