Did your goals change the closer you got to them?

I am wondering about this.

Right now my personal goals (appearance wise) are: losing body fat, getting rid of cellulite, lifting up my butt, getting a flat belly. Right now I don't care about my abs showing or something like that. But I can imagine that this might change when I see my belly getting thinner...

How was it with you? My question goes especially to the nice trained women and men. Did you always plan that sixpack, trained legs, muscular back etc. or did this develop over the time?

My inital goal was to lose weight. I did that.

I set a goal weight of 165..hit that and changed it to 155...wasn't happy.

I am 4lbs from Goal weight and I know that wont do...I will be smaller when I hit my BF% I want..probably between 149-152...

Visible goals were similar to most women who lift...lift my bum, visible abs (maybe not a six pack) most definately I want my back to look nice.

My goals have switched to lifting heavier and heavier...

I never had a weight goal, mine has always been body fat % and a six pack. Once I reach that goal, I will figure out if I want to bulk or change it to a performance based goal. One of my main objectives is always maintain my muscle mass. So yes, my goals will always change because you can't get better without new objectives.

Originally, I just wanted to lose weight. I didn't really have much more of a goal to it than that. Flat stomach I think was in the back of my mind but after two kids, I didn't want to disappoint myself with possibly unrealistic goals.

As the months went by and things started slowly changing, I started to develop a love of weightlifting. I started to focus on body fat percentage to dip low enough to do my first bulk and wanted to aim for strength gains as a goal. The scale became trivial. I had to go below where I wanted to even with lifting to achieve my goal but I did it without letting the scale rule me.

Now, I have a flat stomach (or decently so), I'm doing my first bulk to build muscle and obtain strength, and after I would love to have a six pack. I kind of evolved in my mindset as time passed. Keeping track of my calories keeps me in control to achieve my long term goals and loving my fitness helps me to continue on, even after I hit certain milestones.

I just realized that my goals already adjusted a bit since I come here regularly, read in the forums and started weightlifting. Before I was also just like: Yeah, losing weight would be great, fitting in smaller clothes again.

Now its already more defined, at least a bit :-)
