Higher Heart Rate = Runny Nose?!

Call me crazy, but everytime I exercise and my heart rate gets into the "burn zone"-155+, I instantly have a runny nose. I don't have a cold/allergies/etc. but it starts running out of control. Does anyone else have this issue? Any ideas what could trigger it?

Used to happen to me when I had been training a lot, so I took it as a sign I was starting to "run down" . For me either a multivitamin or Echinacea took care of it.

Yep, happens to me as well, long sleeved top to wipe and then fling it in the washing (or snot bombs whilst running but they take practice or you snotter all down your top instead of just the sleeve), I take the dog with me so I blame his slobbers!!

Only time I've noticed this is when it's cold or it's summer because nature wants to kill me with pollen, but indoors I'm fine

I have this all the time. I cannot go running without a stock of tissues. Happens indoors as well so it's not related to the cold.

Only when cycling outdoors (not indoors) - I tend to leave a snail trail to mark my route....

    I love this :)

I get mine after I'm done. I need to tuck kleenex into my shorts just in case. And yes... If no one is looking... :blushing:

Haha! Yes! I have no shame in my farmer blows, but it is a skill that takes some practice. Still too scared to do it while I'm pulling a group. It doesn't always happen though, usually when it's cold or I'm dealing with some allergies only but also inside.

Yep! All the time! Worse in spring and fall, because of allergies, but happens to me year-round.

  • Happens to me all the time, running or biking, inside or out, cold or warm. I guess that about covers it :-)
