What is the best music app for the gym?

What is the best music app to use for the gym? I would love to pick my own songs and have my own playlist? Any suggestions? pros and cons?

Depends if the gym has Wifi. I use spotify sometimes. One can download a playlist and I use the premium version ($10.66). Pick anything off of it website. It has a lot of new music.

i invested $50 (give or take) and bought an ipod nano. i choose my playlist and update it once a month. this way i listen to MY music and not the gyms, dont have to pay for anything else.

if theres a new song out there i go to youtube and copy the link and then go to a youtube audio converter website and convert the video to audio and add to my playlist.

    I use Google Play Music.

I have my core music on my phone, but also have about 15k songs uploaded. I have playlists built for all different tastes and workouts.

Edit - Aside from my Moto X, I have an iPhone as well. There is also a Google Play Music app for iOS as well. Unfortunately it came out after I paid for iTunes Match.

I just sing Justin Bieber tunes out loud as I'm on the treadmill or bike. I like it, but I get strange looks from others for some reason.

I use my music player on my phone and create a playlist from there. If you have Android, it's called Google Play Music. If you do cardio on a treadmill or run outdoors, look into an app called Run Double... you can create a playlist on there as well and pick from several different running programs depending on your goals

I also use jog.fm (and its sister sites) to help create playlists on based on beats per minute (BPM) on my walking, jogging, cycling playlists.
