I'm going to start the insanity dvds tomorrow, how do I log them as exercise in my journal?

There is a default for "Aerobics, high impact" in MFP. Keep in mind that it is a bit generous on calories burned.

personally i just set my calories to what the nutrion guide that came with the program recomends and then i don't bother logging calories.

I created exercises with "insanity" in the title for each of the workouts. They should be searchable. If not you can create your own exercises and log your calorie burns along with the time in the cardivascular area. Hope this helps.

I'm a certified Insanity instructor, and have done the home workouts myself and the best way from what we learned at the workshop to gauge HR is karvonen formula and they use a calculator to find out by weight and hr how much you burn. Keep in mind, that with max training you're going to burn more within the next 48 hours.

I put them in as a custom exercise, and used my HRM to determine my calorie burn.

If you have a HRM, use that as a guide and create the exercise in your journal. That's how I did mine.

If you use MFP's try to underestimate the calories burned because they tend to be a bit overzealous in the calorie burn areas.

Yup I log Aerobics high Impact too! However if you have a heart rate monitor, you can be more accurate in logging the calorie burn, you can "create" your own exercise entries :)

I highly recommend you get a heart rate monitor, with a workout like insanity you really need to make sure that you are fuleing your body correctly.

My experience with Insanity ... it is best to have a HRM as each person doing it will go at a different pace. You can log as others have suggested, but I would not eat back all the calories burned. 50%.

i'm like the only one that ever suggest just going by the guide on when this comes up lol.

idk, works well for me, its all an estimate anyway and i waste enough time logging.
