Have been using the idea of Mike Chang's diet system... Basic idea is to cook your meals ahead of time so that you aren't tempted to eat out or cheat because you have meals readily available.
I'm a fledgling cook at best... So my basic meal preparation includes one meat one vegetable and one carbohydrate source. Example would be grilled chicken with broccoli and sweet potatoes.
So far so good... Except for one issue: the meals get boring and I end up cheating because I want something tasty.
Should I get to include more cheat snacks in addition to my meals or should I do something else directly to my meal preparation to spruce up my cooking?

I get bored with my cooking pretty quickly too. I mean, you can only have a chicken salad or an egg omelette so many ways >_<
So I definitely try and spruce up my spices. One of my faves is Tony Chachere's cajun seasoning. Lemon pepper is another one that gets overlooked too.
I'm also a recipe troll. Whenever I get a craving for something, I really try and find something that has a few of the same ingredients and hope that helps. (Only sometimes lol).0 -
I have that problem because I live by myself and I'll make lasagna but I can only eat so much lasagna (and it's not the entire 12 servings) before I'm well beyond tired of it. There are a few solutions.
A. Mix it up a bit. If you're making a chicken for one meal, cut a couple of strips off and fry up some veggies with it for fajitas.
B. Buy smaller dishes (ie. casserole dishes and things of that nature) so you don't need to cook as many servings
C. Utilize your freezer. If you do have to make a big serving of something, freeze it. Eat half of it within two weeks and the rest a month later. It will help prevent you from getting bored.0
