When I get one from McDonald's I ALWAYS order Bacon Ranch (with the ranch dressing) and an extra piece of grilled chicken. Even with the ranch dressing it's about 500 calories. My calorie limit is over 2200 a day, so this is just a small dent.

Nothing will wreck your diet as long as you make it fit into your day

I'm totally ordering an extra piece of chicken next time. This is brilliant.

It's a grilled chicken salad. Just because it's from McDonald's doesn't make it inherently evil. And really it's okay to have high fat/calorie foods form time to time. Unless you end up 3500 calories OVER maintenance you won't gain a pound. Moderation is a good thing. Deprivation is not.

    agree!

I always do it in Subway salads... I don't know why I never thought about doing it elsewhere. Genius, sir!

I just ordered my first ever fast food salad today and it was delicious...Wendy's Asian Cashew Chicken Salad. Huge and only 380 calories.

    Didn't read the thread...

If I'm going to McDonalds I'm not getting a salad.

What makes you feel it has wrecked your diet? Sorry, I am just confused.

If you only eat something once every 2-3 months it is pretty much impossible for it to wreck your progress even if it's a whole layer cake or a deep fried Philly cheesesteak...I really don't think a fast food salad w/o dressing is a problem.

But what trouble are you experiencing?

Where do I find this deep fried Philly cheesesteak?!?!

OP - You're fine. A salad is a salad as long as you don't drown it in high calorie dressing and other ingredients. Enjoy.

LOL I just made it up.

    Damn.

Oh, I've just heard awful things about the fat content, but that's to be expected.

    Fat is good for you.

    Thoughts: You're at McDonald's. Eat a burger.
