So as the title implies, I have no idea where to start with lifting weights. I started some dumbbell sets for my arms but thats about as far as I got. Could anyone give me some suggestions. Again I'm a hardcore beginner, my arms shake with 5lb. dumbbells(as embarrassing as that is).

Thank you :)

Based off of what you are saying, I would look up bodyweight routines to start out. Nerdfitness has a good beginner routine that includes push ups, air squats, etc. I think you should do this to get your body use to working out and start building the good habits. Once you feel like you have a consistent schedule done with this and it is becoming too easy (which could take awhile!) look up beginner barbell programs like stronglifts or starting strength :)

When I started I downloaded Gym Pocket Pro on my phone. The app shows you different types of lifts you can do for certain muscles, including instructions, pictures and even videos. It helped me tremendously!

This app isn't available on iphone I don't think but there are several weight lifting apps to choose from.
