Does Birth Control affect weight loss?

Hi all, I was just wondering if my birth control could be part of my problem in losing weight? I'm an 18yo female that has been on Sprintec (a type of birth control) since November. Since then, my weight has lost the momentum it had. I have been stuck at 185 pounds for 3 months now. I recently started SlimQuick pills to see if they would help combat this. Is there anything else I can do or could this stall be part of something else entirely?
