Help! Losing motivation

Alright, so as of January 2014 I weight 180 lbs. At least 4 times a week I work out for 30 minutes burning between 350-400 calories, and i do my best not to eat more than 1200 calories (which is usually successful)
I'm now 163 lbs (3/25/14) but I still feel like this process is going way too slowly....
I can feel myself giving up hope, even though I don't want to.

I hate my body. Seeing myself every day in the mirror and not being able to tell a damn difference is frustrating. In fact, I still look the same as I did when I started. Pear, almost apple, shaped.

I hate this... why am I not losing more weight? How can I lose weight more quickly.

    Hi

I was in the same boat but my weight is decreasing a lot faster when I watched what I ate. I'm on the same calorie limit as you - 1200 and was always excited when the fitness pal showed I was in the green. However, my PT looked at my diary and told me that although I was under the calorie count, it was what I ate that turned into fat.

Also my PT noted that I ate three meals instead of regularly. Apparently when you eat regularly it is better for you. So I eat up to 5 times a day and just smaller portions that equalled my 3 meals a day (if that makes sense)... Anyway, that's from my experience.

You didn't put it on overnight, it isn't going to come off overnight. Instead of focusing on what you don't like and don't want etc. focus instead on positives - you're exercising right? how much stronger and more energetic are you now than when you started? It's a process, but for it to be safe and lasting, you have to be willing to be patient and persistent. Crash and fad diets don't work - sometimes they do, you lose a lot of weight and then as soon as you eat normal again it all piles back on and then some. Just do it the right way and focus on how far you've come. Also, use tape measures not just the scale - there's a difference even if you can't see it yet.

    1) In 2-3 months you've lost 17 lbs. You should be proud, that's a lot.
    2) You're not eating enough. You need to NET at least what you naturally burn in a coma-like state. This is called your BMR (basal metabolic rate). Depending on how tall you are it will likely be higher than 1200.

You have to be patient. You didn't put your weight on in 2 months, it's not all going to come off in 2 months. You're actually likely losing weight too fast, which is why you're faltering.

I take measurements. If my scale isnt budging I measure, and usually I'm smaller than I was the last time I took measurements even if the scale hasnt changed.
You wont be able to change your body type by losing weight... that's genetic, and based off your bone structure. I will always be an hourglass shape, but I want to be a more fit, toned hourglass. You will probably always be pear shaped, accept your body for the things you cant change
