Well, measure them. I feel the same way. When your legs are shrinking they go through an awkward stage in which they look bigger because its all the same size. Trust me, It happens all the time with me

Yeah, my right leg swelled and went through a strange process when I started lifting. I tore my hamstring a long time ago and that leg had always been a little weaker since then, so maybe that's why. All good now.

I also got ridiculous knots in that leg (to the point that you could see and feel them). So massage and foam rolling helped work that all out.

It took a couple months for everything to even out.

Just adding that I don't know why I attached my comment to that quote because it's completely different. Anyway, just saying that sometimes there can be swelling and things that happen initially. Or at least for me there was. I went to physiotherapy because I also had pain.

Have you measured before and after? How long did it take for them to get "huge"? Are you eating at a calorie surplus?

I'm guessing what you are experiencing is swelling and water retention. Women just don't gain muscle that quickly.

I have not measured my before and after so I don't know for sure :S but I know I have def. gotten bigger. I don't fit in my old jeans. I even ripped a pair the other day when I bent down. Seriously.

You ripped the legs? Have they been getting progressively tighter?

You say you have been squatting for about 4 months? How may sets/reps?

You can't gain mass while in a calorie deficit. If you feel like your thighs are getting bigger it's your muscles retaining water. Once you lose the layer of fat over them they won't be huge *kitten* thighs anymore.

    this

when you exercise, your muscles get pumped. This is from them having more glycogen and water in them and more blood. It's a one-time size increase. It's not a taste of things to come. If you're eating at a calorie defict, they will not get any bigger than this, in fact they'll start to get smaller again as you lose the fat. So don't worry, just keep on doing squats.

For those women that want to get hugely muscular thighs, the way to get them is to eat at a calorie surplus and keep on lifting heavier and heavier and heavier and keep on eating at a surplus and have a ton of patience because you can't grow muscles that quickly or easily because you don't have the amount of testosterone that men do.

I ripped a pair of jeans shorts in the quad area, this is the result of doing the 2nd paragraph plus some accidental fat gain (currently doing a cut to take care of that)......... I was like "I AM SHE-HULK! YAY!" :drinker: but that's just me... and there's more fat there than I want, hence the cut..... cutting makes thighs smaller, even for wannabe she-hulks like me... but keeping up the lifting while cutting is vitally important to maintain the muscle that's there... even if you don't want mahoosive quads, what muscle you do have you want to keep as this gives your leg a lean, fit shape. If you lose muscle then they may end up marginally smaller but they'll still be just as flabby.
