Hello all. I'm a 33 y/o male that is 6 foot 3 inches. Last Monday, the 17th, I got on the scales for the first time in ages and saw 239 pounds. While that is not morbidly obese for my height, it is not close to being healthy. I stumbled onto this site and have had somewhat of a revelation. I had always thought that in order to lose weight/diet, I had to give up all of my favorite foods and eat like a rabbit. Well, for the past 9 days, I have not made many significant changes to my diet, just cut back portions and practiced moderation (I do eventually want to include more fresh fruits and vegetables in my diet). Everyday, for the past 9 days, I have stayed within my calorie limit (a few days I did minimally exceed either the sodium, sugar, or fat categories). The result of the first week was losing 4 pounds. My goal is to remain motivated for the next few months, gradually drop to 199, and maintain. I hope I can stick to this and good luck to all in your health goals.
