Getting Muscle Tone in my *kitten*

My problem area has always been my butt. No matter how many lunges/squats I do it seems like it never lifts or rounds. I started to get extremely frustrated with this and did some research. I found that because I hyperextend my knees this prevents my muscles in my butt and in my core from being engaged correctly. So now I am working on my form with squats and lunges and making sure my pelvis is aligned correctly. However, I want my goal butt by June 2014. Is there anyway I can speed up this process? How often should I workout my butt a week in order to obtain this goal? What exercises are also a must in order for lifting the butt. I just feel like I am not doing enough because I am not seeing results. I workout at least 4 times a week, i make sure to do 30 minutes of cardio three times a week and I cut out sugar and reduced my carb intake as well. Are there any other suggestions or advice anyone can give me? Any programs that worked really well for them? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you

I'm under the impression that by "toning", you want definition.
This means losing fat while preserving muscle (ideally).
1. You can't spot-deduct fat.
2. Continue your current regimen of squats and lunges.
3. Consistently eat in a caloric deficit--but don't be so hasty as to starve yourself for "quick" progress. Slow and moderate caloric deficits are healthier and ensure longevity.0
