Hello,
Just purchased my fish Sunday. He's in a betta bowl which is like 1/2 gallon, no filter. Yesterday when I came home I noticed he was swimming around nonstop and full of energy. I thought nothing of it until I saw he has a white little dot on the side of him and it looks like a small white patch under his mouth. Other than that he is eating.

Can anyone help?

He has ich. He needs to be in atleast a 5 gallon with a water heater since betta's are warm water fish plus he needs a filter with weekly water changes. go to a fish store and ask for ich treatment. ( I owned plenty of betta's)

Yep. And when you invest in a real tank, betas get along well enough with gourami, which are gentle and have similar environmental needs. Get some plants that reach almost to the surface for the beta to hide in.
