Cutting question..

Question.. I've been doing heavier weights, less reps (I always do 4 sets) for about 2 years now. I've only recently started my weight loss as I finally got it through my head that nutrition is equally as important as fitness. However I read the other day that for cutting I should do less weight, more reps, opposed to what I am doing now. Any advice? I'm on week 4 of meal prepping, lifting 5 days a week, and 4 days of cardio and have lost 7 lbs.. I have no doubt I'm on the right path, but I'm always open to learning more!

Thanks!

that's total bs. keep the weight and reps the same. Use diet and cardio to lose the fat and keep the muscle on the same way you built it

Why would you increase your rep range?
You can keep your current routine, or reduce your rep range and lift heavy to try to maintain strength (if you start to lose energy during workouts while on your cut).

    this
unless your weight training goals have changed- don't change -less reps is fine for strength building.

Agree with others - B.S.! I've been cutting since January and the only thing that's changed is my calorie intake. My lifting routine is the same as it's always been.

Agreed, although keep in mind your strength progress will suffer on a cut. Still try and lift as heavy as you can if you're focusing on strength gains.

Only would increase the rep range if I was lowering the weight. but im not going to do that. I was just curious if there was any truth to that. It said, less weight more reps for cutting, more weight less reps for bulking.. I'm not trying to bulk lol but I use heavy weights
