how can you tell if it's fat?

I spent what felt like forever bouncing between 168-172lbs, for the last 3 days, my weight has been down to 163-165lbs. I haven't changed anything really, I'm eating more than I usually do if anything.

how can you tell if you're losing water weight or if it is indeed actually fat that is coming off?
