Making them fat??
How Rude!!!

We have a friend that we have known for a few years and while I was onAtkins and eating right and loosing 2-3 lbs a week, he was gaining.

Now, he wasn't a big gut to begin with, maybe 175 lbs and about 5'10".

We have not talked to him since February. No return calls, no stop bys, no return e-mails, just nothing.

So one day we were going to grab a sammi at the Diner and we passed him.

We called and he pretty much blew us off with a reply of, "well, I'm working out now, see ya".

OK, yes, feelings hurt, but this seems to me like a blame on his part.

We never held a gun to his head for eating, I always am able to order healthy at any resturant, so why this.

We have no answer.

Should I just chalk it up as a lesson learned about true friendship?

i read somewhere that if one person hangs out with overweight people, they are more likely to become overweight.

    and vice versa.

so, there is some subconscious influencing going on. Peer pressure and all that.

But going all out and declaring war on a friend for weight gain is just irresponsible and annoying. It's like suing Macdonald's for making you fat... or a smoker suing cigarette companies for giving him cancer.

    Stupid!

Its just a life style change for each of us....he made the choice to turn it around it seems to me that all he'd need to do is say um I'm gonna pass on the meal....wanna come work out w/ me instead...I don't know....all I know is don't blame yourself we each make our own choices ya know! If its bothering you just ask him...it may not be that at all, he may be dealing w/ something else... sometimes I'll distance myself if I"m dealing w/ stress etc...just not to burden others....but I wouldn't be rude sooo, who knows...sorry not much help hon!:ohwell:

    hugs!

i have seen this though , my aunt is aoverweight and she always goes out with these guys that are big and she makes hugh meals for them and then she eats right along with them prolly as much too..
and my 8 year old he has gained weight and i let him go over there, and she let him literally eat 9 pieces of pizza, that is way to much,,
    so maybe it could happen.?:noway:
